The Australian Youth Orchestra
The Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) is one of the world’s most prestigious classical music training organisations. Since the inaugural National Music Camp in 1948, the AYO has gone on to gain national and international recognition and acclaim on the world stage.
The AYO uses its tailored programs to seek out and nurture Australia’s finest young musicians from 12 to 30 years of age. We are dedicated to equipping our participants for their life as a professional musician, whether they are only beginning their journey or are already on the verge of a professional career. The AYO instils in its musicians a respect for professionalism, commitment and focus, while firing their passion and love for music. It is in this way that we have become renowned as an orchestra with the highest standards of performance.
Around 100 young musicians from the flagship symphony orchestra, the Australian Youth Orchestra, will perform in Brisbane under the baton of legendary Australian conductor, Simone Young in one monumental performance at QPAC on 28 July. The Sofitel Brisbane is delighted to be the hotel provider for Simone Young and internationally renowned soprano, Australia’s Emma Matthews as guest artist, and support Australia’s finest young musicians.
