on the 12th of July 1984, operating for more than 20 years as the Sheraton Brisbane
Hotel.
Brisbane's first international 5-star property, regarded then as a landmark tourism
development and investment in Queensland. It quickly became the centre of Brisbane's
social and business scene, attracting royalty, rockstars, celebrities and leaders
of the world such as Margaret Thatcher, Bill Clinton, John Howard, Prince of
Thailand, Sultan of Brunei, Bruce Springsteen, Pavarotti, Frank Sinatra, Ray
Charles, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson, Bob Geldof,
U2, Bon Jovi and Midnight Oil to name a few.
The hotel is also home to the Queensland Reds, the Queensland State of Origin

icon has 'come of age' with the re-branding and refurbishment to one of France's
