CANCER COUNCIL GIRL'S NIGHT IN

Sofitel Brisbane Central will present the launch of Cancer Council's Girls' Night In, The French Way. Girls' Night In is a simple and fun way for women to come together and socialise whilst raising much needed funds and awareness to women's cancer research, prevention programs and supporter services. The private event hosted by Lady Mayoress, Nina Schrinner will bring together Brisbanites for a night of fundraising to give hope to the one in six Queensland women diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer in their lifetime.

The racing carnival is home to timeless traditions of horse racing, high end fashion, live entertainment and magnificent food. Funds raised on the dy will go towards the Queensland Country Women's Association.

Witness one of Australia's great sporting rivalry's this August at the Gabba when the Brisbane Lion's go head to head with the Geelong Cats. NICOLAS MOLÉ - THEY LOOK AT YOU

Located in Southbank, just one kilometre from the CBD, head to Queensland's Gallery of Modern Art to experience Nicolas Molé's immersive installation. They Look at You is an animated installation that embodies the forest environment of his ancestral home, Lifou in New Caledonia. Pulsing natural life forms found in this environment are symbols for the forces of nature. Visitng Nicolas Molé's installation is free, alongside multiple other exhibitions on at the Gallery of Modern Art. 

ROMEO AND JULIET - QUEENSLAND BALLET

After a sell out season in 2014, Sir Kenneth MacMillan's iconic rendition of the bard's famous tale of star cross'd lovers, Romeo and Juliet returns for another magnificent season. MacMillan's grand production brings the streets of Verona to life with elegant costumes, majest6ic sets and daring choreography that matches the dramatic heights of this classic love story. With special guest conductor, Alondra de la Parra (Queensland Symphony Orchestra) taking the baton at select performacnes, this will be a sophisticated production of artisitc grandeur. A drama of romance, passion and tragedy, Romeo and Juliet is the unmissable ballet performance of the year.
