Comedies and dramas, romances and biopics, period films and animated features…there is something for everyone at this year’s Festival, with a selection of films to make you feel, dream, reflect, laugh or even shed a few tears. France comes to Australia for a few weeks with the Festival epitomizing the ever-strong bond between both nations and cultures.

Solor, son of the Maharajah of Koch Bihar, has pledged his undying love to the beautiful Nikiya, a bayadère (temple dancer). When he is forced by his father to marry the Governor-General’s daughter, a string of tragic consequences is unleashed.
This sumptuous new production of La Bayadère will sweep you into the exotic world of the 19th century British Raj. Within a cauldron of colonial politics, glittering balls and opium-fuelled dreams, Solor and Nikiya are entwined through life, death and the ghostly Kingdom of the Shades.

Globally renowed for her adventurous use of sculpture, installation, video and sound to create imaginative hybrid creatures, Piccinini is bringing her recognisable collection from the last ten years and showing it exclusively at GOMA.
16 March - 26 August, Queensland Museum Southbank
Featuring more than 200 artefacts from the world famous Egyptian collections of the British Museum, gain insight into the life and death of those six individuals who lived in Egypt between 3000 and 1800 years ago.

Bluewater Festival at Shorncliffe Pier showcases the beauty and attractions of the northern Bayside and this year the festival will be commemorating its 21st year history! This year’s festival will be one full day jam packed with entertainment, fun and celebrations for the whole family on Good Friday.
