The Brisbane Queer Film Festival is returning for its 18th birthday, and you’re invited to celebrate its coming of age.
For ten days, the New Farm Cinemas will be showcasing the most diverse queer films from Australia and around the world. This year’s program has been carefully crafted by directors Shanon King and Justin Marshman, embracing the best of queer cinema.
Sticking to the theme of its 18th milestone, there will be eighteen sessions in this year’s lineup, including sixteen features, two short sessions, five documentaries and a special binge screening of Brazil’s four-part serial, The Nest.
In addition to celebrating its birthday, 2017 also sees BQFF becoming a member of the Asia Pacific Queer Film Alliance, alongside the likes of Sydney Mardis Gras Film Festival and Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
