Girls' Night In

On August 2nd, Sofitel Brisbane Central presented the Queensland Launch of Cancer Council’s Girls’ Night In, the French way. The private event was hosted by Lady Mayoress, Nina Schrinner who brought together high-profile Brisbanites, cancer advocates and philanthropists for a night of fundraising. Cancer Council CEO Chris McMillan was also present, speaking of her appreciation for the organisation and everything it does for fighters and survivors.

The event featured tasteful canapés and food that aligned with living the French way, as well as exciting raffles, exquisite décor and live entertainment.

Girls’ Night In hopes to give the one in six Queensland women diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer in their lifetime a fighting chance. Adding to the fundraising endeavours on the evening, Lady Mayoress was adorned with an 18ct yellow gold daffodil- shaped pendant, which was created especially for Cancer Council Queensland and was sold to the highest bidder of the night.

Sofitel Brisbane Central General Manager Hayden Hughes said he was proud to show support for Cancer Council Queensland and for the women in our lives touched by this disease.
